The LifeSpan S4 is a gym quality indoor cycling bike that features a 44 pound flywheel, a Poly-V belt drive, and fully adjustable handlebars and seat. Also included is a leather resistance knob with a push brake, and alloy pedals with sealed bearings. The maximum user weight is 400 pounds. The dimensions are: 48 x 48 x 26 inches (W x H x D). LifeSpan backs the S4 with a 5 year warranty on the frame and 2 on the parts.
Pros
The performance of the S4 is top-of-the line. The 44-pound flywheel and belt drive allows for quiet and smooth operation. The 400 maximum user weight is by far the greatest I have seen, so this tells you how strong the frame is. The vertical and horizontal handlebar adjustment is a nice feature, as it allows users to really find that perfect position. The seat and pedals can be swapped out for ones that you favor. At it’s current price, as a customer you are getting excellent value with this bike. The front mounted wheels allow you to move it around easier.
Cons
One downside is the lack of a water bottle holder. While this certainly isn’t the end of the world, it certainly isn’t convenient either. A few customers did note that the handlebars wobbled when cranking up the resistance. This could however have something to do with adjusting the footpads at the bottom.
Summary
The LifeSpan S4 is a meat and potatoes kind of bike. It’s performs extremely well, but lacks some of the extras that some might like to see with it. This bike has very good value considering the price.
