The Livestrong LS9.9IC is designed to satisfy the most serious cyclists with high caliber performance parts and features, including a 40 pound flywheel, a Kevlar belt system, and an LED console for tracking time, KCal, distances, and rpm. It has dual-sided aluminum pedals with cages, straps, and toe clips. The seat is air-fit and adjusts both vertically and horizontally. The cantilevered brake system includes a friction brake and emergency stop. The maximum weight capacity is 290 pounds. Warranty: 5 years on frame, 2 on brake, and 2 on parts.

Pros

Just by looking at the LCS9.9IC, you can tell that it’s a heavy-duty, top of the line bike, and the price tag would also indicate as much. Livestrong was founded by Lance Armstrong, so you this brand isn’t going to put anything less than a high quality bike.

The heavy 40 pound flywheel is designed to operate smoothly and simulate road conditions. The Kevlar belt drive system, which means that will operate quietly, not require as much maintenance, and is built to last. The best indoor cycling bikes all have belt drives.

The LCS9.9IC also has a commercial grade frame that is resistant to corrosion. The maximum weight capacity is 290, which is pretty solid. The highest I have seen is 300 pounds, so it’s ranks up there with the best.

This bike is made out of heavy-duty components and high quality construction. This provides excellent stability and sturdiness, even when pedaling standing up. You can expect no wobbling whatsoever.

If you care about aesthetics, then this bike certainly looks the part. It has a black/gray/yellow color scheme that gives it a real smooth appearance.

While all indoor cycling bikes have vertical and horizontal seat adjustments, the LCS9.9IC has micro-adjustment which allows you to find just the right position for you. Most other bikes have preset holes that only allow you to adjust in increments.

The LED console is high quality and can be read from a number of angles. The wording is very easy to see. Those who value data will find the console very useful.

The handlebars allow for a wide range of positions so you can be comfortable during your workouts.

Cons

One downside I see is that the handlebar can’t adjust horizontally. Very few bikes seem to have this, but usually the upper level ones do. The other negative is no SPD pedals, which is a bit unexpected considering the price tag.

Summary

The Livestrong LS9.9IC is one of the better indoor cycling bikes out there. It’s heavy duty, durable, sturdy, and performs very quietly and smoothly. You really can’t go wrong with this bike.
